  • Training - Not only do 24/7 employees require the normal training in job skills but they also require training in how to manage the special personal challenges of the shift work lifestyle. The place to begin is management and employee training.
  • Union/Labour Issues – There is a higher proportion of unionised employees in 24/7 industries and a history of failure to deal with the special issues of shift work can lead to longstanding mistrust and grievances.
  • Work & Family Life Balance - As work expands outside normal day time hours the off-duty hours can be out of synch with those of the employee’s family and friends, then the issue of work-life balance becomes especially critical.
