Mark Holmes – Chairman

Mark Holmes

Mark leads the Circadian® Australia team and brings a wealth of international leadership experience to Circadian Australia. Mark co-founded Circadian® Australia and is a key member of Circadian®’s global team delivering FRMS solutions and services to the Aviation, Mining, Energy, Services, Manufacturing and other industry sectors in Australia.

Mark is a regular keynote speaker on FRMS (Fatigue Risk Management Systems) at industry conferences and seminars across Australia.

Mark is also an Independent Non-Executive Director on a number of Boards and additionally supports corporate leadership development in an executive coaching and mentoring capacity.

Jim MacDonnell – Director

Jim MacDonnell

Jim is responsible for the day to day operations of CIRCADIAN AUSTRALIA and is actively involved in delivering FRMS solutions and services to the Aviation, Mining, Energy, Services, Manufacturing and other industry sectors in Australia. Jim delivers our Supervisor and Shiftworker workshop training on site around Australia.

In 1996, Jim co-founded Lusty EMS to manufacture aluminium semi trailers, and the success of the business led to it being acquired by publicly listed MaxiTRANS in 2003, Australia’s foremost supplier of road transport trailing solutions. Jim spent a further 3 years as General Manager of Lusty EMS under MaxiTRANS ownership to ensure a seamless succession plan.

Jim’s experience in the transport industry enables him to understand the demands placed upon both operators and drivers and the importance of effective fatigue training, management and education.

Christina Luestner – Client Manager

Christina Luestner

Christina manages all of our client online training systems, inquiries and events. Christina has significant transport industry experience having spent more than 26 years in transport insurance with one of Australia’s largest heavy vehicle insurers where she was Industry Liaison Coordinator for her last 7 years with NTI (National Transport Insurance). Christina has a Cert 1V in Training & Assessment.

Neil Findlay – Non Executive Director

Neil Findlay


Neil actively supports the strategic development, sales and marketing initiatives of CIRCADIAN AUSTRALIA. Neil founded Findlay Bulk Services, the first company in Australia to have its people complete Certificate III in Road Transport, one of the first to complete Certificate IV, and one of the first to join the Trucksafe programme. Neil has served on the Board of Directors of NATROAD and the Australian Trucking Association (ATA), and has chaired the Trucksafe Industry Accreditation Board. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

Neil was is the inaugural chair of the Queensland Transport Logistics Council (QTLC), whose charter spans the freight and logistics activities of road, rail, air and sea freight operations specifically in Queensland, while maintaining a national focus. The QTLC’s role is to “…identify issues impacting on the State’s freight movements, exchange views and progress resolution of those issues, determine solutions and provide advice to industry and Government”.

Angela Baker Ph.D.

Angela Baker

Angela has been involved in shiftwork since she left school. Her experience covers the day-to-day work impacts of a nursing and midwifery career, with the inherent roster demands for a period of 14 years.

Upon leaving nursing she joined the Centre for Sleep Research (CFSR) at the University of South Australia where she studied the impact and consequences of shiftwork, fatigue and lack of sleep and undertook her PhD in the area of shift work and time preferences. During her 11 years with the CFSR she was responsible for the establishment, coordination and management of multiple fatigue risk management projects across industry sectors engaged in 24/7 operations.

Since leaving the University in 2005 Angela has worked as an independent consultant overseas and within Australia in the areas of fatigue risk management and safety. She has extensive experience and knowledge in establishing, reviewing and implementing Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS), programmes and strategies.

Angela co-authored the development of a publication commissioned by the Minerals Council of Australia for the Minerals industry addressing the science and research behind FRMS and the manner in which organisations could develop and implement their own FRMS which includes policy development and an implementation process. The publication is pertinent across all industries not only the minerals sector. The document is entitled: Work Design, Fatigue and Sleep: a resource document for the minerals industry.
